£1,217 raised at Beer, Cheer and Games!

Over 50 people joined Equal Community Foundation in London to raise awareness of violence against women and raise funds for ECF’s innovative work with men in India! We collected over £1,200, and everyone had a great night.

Thanks to everyone who attended and gave so generously, to our volunteers who made the event a great success, and to the staff at Glasshouse Stores who served good beer and food with a smile!

We missed our friends who were unable to attend. Fear not, you can still be part of the action and donate online here: https://mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/ecf.

In particular, I would like to thanks those who donated prizes to the event including:

About Equal Community Foundation

Equal Community Foundation seeks to create safe and fair communities for women by developing, implementing and advocating programmes that engage men. We seek to end all violence and discrimination against women by disrupting the patriarchal cycle that perpetuates male inequitable attitudes. We strive to nurture a new generation of men who are sincere and active advocates of each others’ and women’s Human and Civil Rights.

Address: Equal Community Foundation, B9, Aashiyana Park, North Main Road, Koregaon Park, Pune – 411 001. Website: www.ecf.org.in

About Action for Equality Programme

Action for Equality programme partners with existing community based organizations and places trained mentors into urban low-income communities to support adolescent male peer groups, aged 14-17 through a four-month, practical course on gender equality. Young men uncover the value of equality and through a process of studying and debating the taboo topics that underpin patriarchal society and the suppression of women they learn how to realize substantive change in the community.
